What happens during MIBBB Fest? A men-and-women in black cosplay party on the shore of Puget Sound; dance parties; quirky contests; a flying disc dog competition; arcade-gaming after parties; UFO history walking tours; speaker presentations; a 5k run; and more, all in the shadow of Maury Island, Washington.
Why?
On June 22, 1947, one day after Harold Dahl saw six flying discs of Maury Island, Washington, he encountered history’s first alleged “men in black.” And unknowlingly launched a mythological and pop culture juggernaut we all know today. So, each year, on the anniversary weekend of that first-ever “men in black” warning, MIBBB Fest celebrates the event - in “black-and-white” - on the shores of Puget Sound, in the sunset shadow of Maury Island.

It started with a party by, for, and about Washington’s spawning of the iconic Men in Black - and has become a full blown festival, featuring all manner of festival fun. You can cosplay as MIB or aliens at the Bash, “after-party” with your favorite games at an after-party, join with other MIB (or watch/surveil) for a 5k Park Run, hear speakers on local history and UFO lore, and more.
